Its good to read that 45+ people migrate and succeed......

But what percentage of aged people succeed ????????

If 50% of immigrnats succeed thats called SUCCESS............

One or two cases here and there cant be an inspiration.............

Lets talk about reality...........

Dude...i had no intention to inpire you by cases i related ....
You r right ...Lets talk about reality ..... ...the reality is that successes of indians is rarely discussed here ...the cases i have related are of very ordinary people from small towns in india who could make it big here ...such cases are not very rare ...had it been the case then indians would not be the richest "visible minority" community in the US and in Canada just next to the chinese community and also in UK.

the only difference between the cases i have related and the "uninspired " rest of us is the distance they were ready to go to change their lives.

wether we find any inpiration or not ..we will still remain are responsible for our own fate.

Dear rajuu

How are you. It has been sometime since we last heard from you. Hope the info on this post is helping you out. If you need any more info do please ask specific questions , some soul or other will definitely get back in touch with you.

Here is some info published in the weekly Voice on how to set up your credit and get preapproved in India for loans and mortgages before coming to India. I have given you a link before but here is legitimatization from the press.

ICICI Bank's New Offer To Help Newcomers

Newcomers to Canada from India can now benefit from the recently introduced Hello Canada Newcomers Account from ICICI Bank Canada.

This unique banking solution enables customers to open a savings account in Canada before they leave their home country, and gives them the ability to obtain a preapproved MasterCard, car loan or mortgage, without a pre-established credit history in Canada. As newcomers often do not have a credit history, they face difficulties in obtaining any type of loan upon arrival in Canada. ICICI Bank's solution helps newcomers to start building the credit history they need for their future borrowing needs.

"ICICI Bank understands the needs of newcomers to Canada. Individuals who are moving to Canada as permanent residents, or those with working or student visas can open a Hello Canada Newcomers Account through any of ICICI Bank's designated branches in India. In addition to Canadian dollars, they can also keep their funds in US Dollars, British Pounds or Euro currencies," said Aditya Vasudev, Manager NRI Services, ICICI Bank Canada.

ICICI Bank launched its Canadian operations in December 2003 with a branch in the Exchange Tower, the heart of Toronto's financial district, and in Brampton, a suburb of Toronto, with a large Indo-Canadian community. Already, further expansion plans are underway in Canada in the South Asian and mainstream communities across the Greater Toronto Area.

"ICICI Bank Canada is committed to serving the Canadian market as an alternative to the long established institutions in the market," said Hari Panday, President and CEO, ICICI Bank Canada. Determined to be a household name in Canada just as in India, Panday adds: "We're offering one of the highest deposit rates in the country. Combined with our broad range of products, services and expertise in Internet Banking, we expect to attract many discerning customers who want superior service."

The Hello Canada Newcomers Account is one more way ICICI Bank is reaching out to its customers, creating innovative banking solutions to help newcomers navigate through their financial affairs, and move forward with their lives.

ICICI Bank Limited is India's second largest bank with an asset base of USD 28 billion. The bank provides a broad spectrum of financial services, which includes mortgages, car and personal loans, credit and debit cards, corporate and agricultural finance to individuals and companies. ICICI Bank Limited serves a growing customer base of more than 10 million accounts through a multichannel access network of over 470 branches and 1800 ATMs, call centers and internet banking (www.icicibank.com).

Dear BKB,
Thank you for the your postings .I am benefited by them. CD site is, no doubt, a great help to all prospective immigrants without which I would not have known so may things.

I have met an officer of ICICI bank who visited my place thru an NRI friend of mine. Since the Visa papers are yet to receive (our passports are sent to CHC Nairobi 3months ago). I requested him to wait til that time. After receiving visas I want to take at least one month to wind up and to immigrate during which I can do the bank work as suggested by you.

Once again I thank you and my greetings to all CDs.

Geeeee…

I thought life has been tough only on me; till I actually started reading individual experiences on the path or in Canada by ever single one who has posted here..

You know what I have never been the kind to give up or loose any battle of hardship in life but thanks to all of yall my inner confidence has grown 10 times more stronger then what it was, not cos I believe ‘No pain no gain’ notion but cos despite all the good and the bad that Canada had/has to offer every single one of yall, yall still stood your grounds one way or the other and fought your battles..

Once a great warrior said try try until you succeed and this is the moral I have learnt from all this discussion..

I am coming to Canada be it good times and the bad I will be standing there by my dream…Heck if life is so easy and simple then where’s the pleasure the challenge to exceed and cross all boundaries and imaginations, so come rain or storm I am working my bones to make it & all I can say is hard work and good morals is the only legacy no one can strip off you thus any job is a good job as long as its making an honest buck.

Yet once again in my life I am starting all over again from the scratch to begin a new life it don’t scare me, cos I know what I let go, I let go of my past for this coming future. And there’s no shame doing low end jobs, if it means this is the beginning but certainly it aint gonna be the end, cos I did it before & today I got to the position as a reputable Chef, maybe not a famous chef but I certainly do have my share of patrons who ask for me, even if its just to say hello, and that makes a world of difference to me knowing that.

So Cheers to all of yall for sharing your personal experiences and struggle cos yall helped me in facing up to the new challenge…
Coming to Canada…

Natt
