Good to know that CD is a forum that helped provide 2 souls with jobs. Just out of interest what were they engaged in before?

OK, so I should thank CD? not you? OK, thank you CD.
The girl worked for Sears for CAD 9/hr now will get 15/hr. She still plans to work at Sears on weekends. The boy, I think was selling TS in the malls, not sure, on commision. He opted for night shift so he can continue with selling TS during the day. Also he gets night shift premium. I don't know his salary.
Back to music. From your days there is another duo- Simon and garfunkel- you forgot to mention. I was exposed to their music when a friend of mine in Pune showed me his father's fav movie "THe Graduate" with Dustin Hoffman- about a grad from Harvard or somewhere who gets seduced by his girlfriend's mother. Have you seen it? I loved the soundtrack so his father gave me the soundtrack from the movie, which I still have on cassette. His father also gave me copies of many musicians of his time like The Carpenters, Joni Mitchell, Joan Baez, Carly Simon. Have you guys heard of them. I have all these on cassette but rarely listen to them. So much new music to listen to.
Ahaa! so BL you noticed my purposeful distortion of Eminem to M&M? you are very alert. I think the guy is so good, he's good enough to eat! OOOOOHHH! So good!!!!!!!!!!! Have you guys heard how his new video"just lose it" has irked Whacko?
How would you guys like to start a thread on movies. Somewhere else -somebody mentioned"To Sir with Love'- another good movie. Also shown to me by the same friend's father.
You know when I went to India , I thought all people above 30 would be into Bollywood and Indian music. To my surprise, I found many Indian men/women in their forties and fifties would enjoy English movies and English music- very very surprising to me. There is a big underground movie market there. Hardly the movie is released in the States, when you can get it on VCD in Pune. In this country, one has to wait for 6 months! Also i remember, VCRs were considered outdated there even 4-5 years ago and here still they are in demand. Also SMS was a big thing there-here still it has to catch on.
To all you devout Muslims out there, remember Ramadan-or Ramzan- is here. I have gone the way of my cousins from Lebanon and ceased to be a devout Muslim.

Dubaidesie- Thanks again- forgot 'bout Simon and Garfunkel-one of them is due to play here in TO later this year.
Yeah, "THe Graduate" was a must see movie in my days. I think I must have seen it several times. Campus would be abuzz with talk of this flick. Tracks from there incl. "Scarborough Fair", 'Sounds of silence', Mrs. Robinson'. Also great songs by them- 'Bridge over Troubled water' ,
And of course 'Cecilia you're breakin' my heart, you're breakin' my confidence daily...........up in my bedroom...'
The others you mention Joni Mitchell, Joan baez etc, not my 'chillum of charas'- to quote the 60's head version of "cup of tea"- don't read that wrong, I do not indulge in that. I do remember a duo singin' their songs in Mumbai and doin' Carpenters covers- ferget their names but they finally married- guy and gal they were.

BTW: Purple, ledzep, floyd, Sscorpions etc...are cool. BUT, nobody seems to have mentioned the lizard king...mr.mojo risin?
And the people love him.

BTW an apt anthem for many here
People are strange, when you're a stranger
Faces look ugly when you're alone
People seem wicked, when you're unwanted
Streets are uneven, when you're down
When you're strange- faces come out of the rain (rain, rain)
When you're strange- no one remembers your name
When you're strange, when you're strange, when you're str-ange
