Hometown- Cairo, Egypt. Was born there.
Lived in Mumbai for 13 years as student, first in boarding, then in college.
Subsequently lived in Pune for 4 years working for Bajaj.
Can read write and speak Hindi better than Arabic and better than many Indians, if I may say so.I am more Indian than Misri.
Been in Canada for the last 11 years.
BKB, I can never forget the juice stalls and chowpati bhel, they are so Bombay! Also the kulfi and the pau bhaji and the road side dosas.
My wife is Indian from Muhamed Ali Road, originally, but the family moved to Malabar Hill later on.
Loved Bombay. Very very exhilarating. I go there every 2 years and my wife's family is there so we are in constant touch. Nowadays we can afford to go to Oberoi and Taj, not in the days I was living there.
However, Toronto is just as exhilarating. Lot of plays to see. i am not a concert fan, but I see many plays. I love art and theater and there is plenty here. Also went to see the film festival in Sep. Always do, every year.
