In the 70s (and even now) it was the place to be....Now other parts along th emain road have developed. We use dto eat softy (icecream) and have limca and that was considered somehow hip.

So where did you study.

I personally havent stayed in ranchi too much but I am strangely attracted to the place. Has to be something about where you are born.

I really don't think Ranchi is Bihar anymore.. its Jharkhand

True. But for me it was in Bihar when I was in India and it will always be in Bihar in my mind. I never lived in Jharkhand and so will never know what it feels like to be a Jharkhandi. But given a choice, I will always perfer to be called a Bihari than a Jharkhandi.....
