Good Morning Mr. Massood,
I needed to know if the 3 yr waiting period to become a Canadian Citizen could be shortened if one was previously a student here in Canada.
I studied at the UofC for 4.5 yrs ending June 94. I am about to return to Canada as a PR in June 05. I look forward to becoming a citizen and read somewhere that this 3 yr period would be shortened, taking into account the period I was a student.
Would you be able to clarify this for me ? Indeed, I will be grateful. Thank you and have great day today !
For Citizenship application, your time in 1994 won't count. Time as a non-resident is counted on in the past four years <1 day = half day>

Mr. Massood, thank you for being this gracious and spending your time to answer my inquiry. It may certainly feel like a 'thankless' job sometimes, but let me just say for myself that what you did in answering my question here meant a lot for me. God Bless you for what you do and continue in doing for all of us here at CD. Take care.
