I want to send about 15 or so Christmas/NewYear greeting cards this year.

Does anyone know of a store that sells good but reasonably priced greeting cards?

Most stores like Hallmark or WalMart have cards in the $3.50 - $5.00 range, which is robbery I think.
For 15 cards, I am easily looking at spending almost $75, which is total nonsense.

Where do you guys buy greeting cards from?

Thanks :)

That amount is without the canadapost charges(incase you are sendingto India it adds up)

Try $ stores. A color printer with customized cards or/with an XMAS potrait of your family(from sears/wal-mart etc) are other options.

On the other hand its just once a year :), grin and bear if you can.

Yes, you are right that the amount was without including postage.
Although I am not posting the card to India, they are still going overseas to the UK, US, etc.

I am guessing another $20 or so in postage, bringing the grand total to $100 for friggin' greeting cards !

I don't know about you, but that sounds like an awful amount of money to me.

Others may consider this "kanjoosi" or whatever, but I usually go by price-vs-value comparison.
To me, $75 greeting cards don't have value.

I am a pretty frugal sort of person, and finances are usually limited, so I try to get the best value for my buck.

Sorry, but I can't :) and bear :o

Thanks for your help and sorry about the rambling.
If anyone else is as frugal minded as I am, please get in touch with me and maybe we can share tips and compare notes :D

The best time to buy Christmas cards is on boxing day when they are marked down 50 to 70%. Other than that ecards is an option. Or if your company sends cards you can grab the ones which are left over from last year.

100$ for 15(approx) cards IS steep.
Like I mentioned $ stores have xmas cards...ofcourse the quality is not that great on them. Shoule be around 1-2$ on each card. If you buy a set of 15-25 cards...its probably even cheaper. You find those deals in wal-mart too. Then again, you may have to reconcile yourself with the quality.

Let us know your findings.

If you are comfortable with the idea of selecting the card over internet and have it delivered to India or elsewhere, you can try

http://www.wishbycards.com

Prices are inclusive of postage in India. Some cards can be sent for less than 50 cents US.

I agree with Jake.
The $ stores have good selection.
Look at the back of the card and see the price.
U.S.A $2.40
CAN $3.30
You cannot beat that.
Moreover what happens to the card once the occasion is over !!
