I received a letter today from CIC. It says "you must arrive in canada on or before the visa expiry date . Your expiry date is ** April 2005. Your visa is affixed in your passport. Enclosed is a CPR form. We wish you a pleasant journey and success in future in canada"

I had not received any other letter from cic since my medicals. I had my medicals done and documents send in October 2004 after my interview. I don't have canada visa on my pp yet and never received a PP request from Consulate. My case has been processed in LA. This is the only letter I got today and they send me my receipt for ROLF. So does this means it is a pp request or what? Please help. Eclient still says interview date and they have send just 2 supplementary identification forms but no cpr forms. What shall i do?

I suppose there might be some mistake on cic's part. How come they say tha t your visa is afixed on your passport without having a passport with them. you just fax them right now telling them the situation that the passport is still with you and there is no CPR form enclosed as written in the letter you received from cic.

Moreover there is mistake on your part too, you should have submitted your passport when you are done with your medicals coz on medical guidelines paper it is written that after going through medicals one should submit his/her passports.

anyways, fax or call them now and clear your position.

one more thing check on the covering letter that if the file number mentioned on the top is yours or not, may be by mistake they have sent someone else's letter in your envelope.

I Checked the File number and its mine and I didnot find any thing on my medical request to submit a passport to consulate. I think they are suppose to send me the Passport request. How come I send them passport with Medical forms and have the passport with them for 5 to 6 months even in some cases they take 1 year to reply. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Yes, i guess you are right, submit passport to consulate only when they request for it

Hi,

In LA consulate, normally they request u to submit the passport if everything is fine. There is a mistake done by CIC in your case. Send a fax or letter explaining the situation.

Called Consulate and they confirmed me that the letter sent to me was issued in error and they faxed me the correct letter which is a passport request SO I guess its time to celebrate Thanks for all of your help
