This is something that should have happened year ago. Being a financial capital. Paying the highest taxes. Atlast it is getting something in return.

In our country \"happening\" or \"execution\" or \"action\" is a distant non priority item. Hope to see it is being implemented on a war footing day and night 24x7. Our Mumbai alone contributes to the exchequer a whopping amount of Rs.40KCrores annually by way of revenue. However, nothing is ploughed back for the development of the city. We have narrow roads everywhere due to the illegal occupation of numerous shops on both sides of pavement and numerous illegal occupation of hawkers on the roadsides and the poor pedestrians had to walk on the road.
Unless and until each and every citizen of this country learns to abide by the rule of the land and learn not to create public obstruction, hope is far away.
Also, we have a poor Rail Infrastructure with only 4 lane traffic with trains packed with around 300% over capacity leading to so many unreported suffocation death and mishapes occuring every day. Where does the collection of this Suburban Rail System goes ? Not at all for the Capital Formation of this Suburban Rail System. In a day minimum of around 6 Million commuters use this facility. But no one cares. The commuters are transported in worst conditions than the animals being transported in a Goods Train.

bisonYou need to check out how Thane has developed with Mumbai by the side of it. You will see Skycrapers on Ghodbunder road and 3 malls coming up int that area. I heard that Hrianandani builders are building 2 multiplexes out there in Hiranandani Estate it self.
Gokhale road when i left was bustling with activity and There is talwalkar 3 storey gym in Thane on Ghodbunder road.
They are also planning to make Ghodbunder road which connects borivili a four lane highway. you can get the latest news of thane here :
