What is "GOPIS"?

Isnt Gopi another name for Lord Krishna?

So what does it mean when you say "for all the Gopis"?

Freedom of speech: ;)

In desi families generaly, if son flirts with girls parents feel proud of the act and if daughter flirts with boys parents are disgusted.
Poster of this pic has posted photograph of Lord Krishna (Gopi) son of hindu families for the Gopis (girls) to flirt with him..........;)

Oh c'mon .... it is just a picture .... an expression , and , that is what it is. Why do we desi's have to make an issue out of everything.

If someone wants to express thru a photo ..... within the guidelines .... let him be .....

No one should be offended with or without such photos...... but then again ... everyone is entitled to their opinion ( Freedom of Speech) .... guess I am entitled to my 2 cents.

No it is not just a picture. It is a picture of a Hindu God. The issue is not what is desired to be expressed thro a photo. The issue is that display of such pictures on a message board sends the signal that the board is religiously biased. Since it is a public forum, it is an expression that should be avoided.

Nice...So, after so many posts, looks like u've found this forum to be religiously biased ?

U've turned a petty issue into a topic of religious in-tolerance.

I think the issue is also one of precedence.

I could post any religious picture (within accpetable limits) and do so everyday. Dont underestimate Religious symbols in a public forum.
What might be acceptable to one person could be the opposite to another.
And I am not talking about this particular picture.

Whats to stop one from posting picture of say a political kind?
Or anything within limits.

Thats why the guidelines are quite specific.

I think the picture has been changed either by GG or automatically. In any case, I didn't think it was put up as religious propaganda, rather someone trying to be funny. The caption "Picture of me for all Gopis" should've made it clear enough. In Indina mythology, Gopis are the female fans of Krishna who he did raas-garba with. The poster was probably submitted by an over-zealous bachelor trying to ramp up some attention from the chicas, that's all.

We're totally against religious propaganda on the website. At the same time, there's a common-sense approach we have to take in allowing or disallowing these things. If someone sends a nice pic. of a temple or a church or a mosque, we won't disallow it.
