Guys, my car insurance is up for renewal.
Couple of quick questions :
1) Does anyone have a list of insurance companies & their contact numbers in GTA...? That way i wont have to build one... Call me lazzzy...but i will also review and refine it
2) Also, do we need to go thru a broker in this province? Or, Can we go talk directly to the insurance company... Looks like Wawanesa operates only thru brokers in this province...and u can talk directly with The Personal.
3) What are the advantage of going thru a broker? Any brokerage fees?
4) I know this is a bit generic question, but on an average, how much time should i keep to find and finalize an insurance, if u can access them directly... (In quebec, i could do it in 2/3 days )
5) Lastly, what documentation do i need in hand?
- Drivers abstract from Quebec and Ontario
- Experience letter from my previous insurance company
???
Thanks bison

Can't answer all your questions, but here goes -
Quote:A broker can shop several insurance companies at the same time and give you the best quote.

Quote:I did my insurance directly and did not take more than a few minutes at the office of the agent.

Went up? Yep... Moved from Quebec to Ontario...
In quebec, i was paying 1100
In ontario, Same company adjusted it to 1600 to cover me till end of year
They couldnt renew it and i had to find a insurance company from ontario.
I think here, it depends on what rating they give you. Each company has its own rules to rate you.
With no claims/accidents in last 3 years, U can get a 6* rating...
