not offended at all. Just wanted to know how you came to that conclussion. I'm now guessing its heresay.
Its like saying that india is about snakecharmers and cows based on a few 1960 hollywood movies.
Separatists= the people who wanted to separate from Canada. They are mostly from the old guard....thus my comment.
Also the french in quebec(especially montreal) have had first hand experiences of discrimination. Until about 30 yrs ago they were treated as second class canadians in many places even in Montreal. That was one of the reasons for the whole separatist movement.
Anyways do visit and find out for yourself. As other Canadian desis have found out Montreal is a great place to visit. Especially in summer.

Also, some of the paper articles gave me that kind of impression. But with your talks now, I feel like going out there sometimes 
And yes, India is NOT about snakecharmers and elephants moving on the roads unattended. People still think India is there where they left her. About me, I am not even 2 yrs old FOB
