These are instructions I have upon my Visa Issuance:
"You must formally land in any Canadian Port of Entry (except for those of the Province of Quebec) on or before the expiry date that will be listed on your Visa (note the date when your passport is returned to you with your Canadian Immigrant Visa attached). "
Can anybody explain why cannot I land in Quebec? Why is that? Why cannot I land when Quebec is a part of Canada and I am a bonafide and legal PR???? Doesn't this seem rather ridiculous??

Quebec manages its own immigration process independently of the federal skilled worker immigration process. Therefore they do not like federal immigrants to land in their province. Since you are considered *landed* at the first point on Canadian soil, this means that if you are flying into Canada you must chose an itinerary that does not land in Quebec before any other Canadian airport.
Once you have landed you may settle in any part of the country including Quebec.
Quebec and Quebecoirs get special treatment. They keep threatening to demand a separate Republic of Quebec to maintain this special status. Somewhat similar to Kashmir though fortunately there are no troublesome neighbours to Canada. Also, they seem to refuse to learn English. Learning two languages shouldn't really be a big deal for most people. I guess these are "troubles" of the rich
Could not understand why this thread is in "Study" so moving it to appropriate location.

Will Quebec ever quit from the Federation?? I know a lot of Canadians say, "Nah that cannot happen". But what if it did? How will it affect us? Geographically, Canada would have to be split East & West. We will lose our economic advantage from keeping Quebec in the Federation. Can the smaller provinces in the East join USA?? What are the general thoughts? Let's discuss

Most of the discrimination cases against landed immigrants (esp brown) are from Quebec. They dont like new faces perhaps, or even English speaking people. Just thinking aloud, they may become a separate country (different from Canada) due to most of the racist people there.
Dont pound on me, I just expressed my thoughts!
