Hi
I applied for Canadian Citizenship at the begining of this month. I was told by my someone that my process should be fast, as there are not much ppl applying from Kingston area.
Any comments if thats true?
It could help later when the file is moved to your area office but the initial fedral delay is same for all

We will find a way or we will make one
Okay thanks, and I am assuming that the initial application takes around 3-4 months before it gets transfered to your local office?
I'd be greatful if you could confirm the same.
GOT MY CANADIAN CITIZENSHIP!!!!!
Got my Canadian citizenship!!!!!
Here is my timeline of my citizenship process!!!
We received your application for grant of Canadian citizenship (adult) on March 30, 2004.
We sent you a letter acknowledging receipt of your application, and a study book called A Look at Canada on March 30, 2004.
We started processing your application on June 08, 2004.
Your file was transferred on November 18, 2004 to the Woodbridge office for the citizenship testing and taking of the citizenship oath. The Woodbridge office will contact you to write the Citizenship test.
Got letter on 3rd Dec that my citizenship test is on 17th december.
Got letter on Feb 2nd that my oath is on feb 16th.
I did my oath on feb 16th and applied for Canadian passport and got it today.
I'm a Canadian citizen.
Hope this will be very helpful.
I live in Woodbridge. But currently a student at Queen's. I live at Weston/Rutherford. Small World, I must say. I know a friend of mine who applied from Woodbridge in March and he was done with his oath by November 14th. So, he had a quicker one than yours!
I think its random!
Hi Crowdpuller,
Yes it's random!!! Yes it took almost 12 months to finish the whole process. Good got it at last. I've heared in forum that some people have been waiting for more than 16 months.
Let's just keep our fingers crossed!
