I am a Family Physician by profession . I immigrated from India On July 28th 2002 to California u.s.a.and was in the process of settling down in U.S.A. My sister and younger brother are canadian citizens settled in TORONTO canada. Due to sudden demise of my brother in law in January this year i had to rush in to canada and in the family meeting it was decided that I should settle in canada . My brother in law has left vast buisnesses to be looked after my sister is also a practising physician in canada. I came to canada in january2003 and went back to u.s.a. in july 2003 well before 179 days. I brought my family to u.s.a. in july 2003. I have got my canadian work permit and my application for canadian immigration has been accepted in the independent category. I have not applied for an extended stay out side u.s.a. application before leaving u.s.a. I don't want to lose my green card status till the future of my two children who are now studying in class 12th here in canada is decided. They may need admission in U.s.a. universities. How can I save my u.s.a. green card once my canadian immigration comes through. Please advise
I'm sorry, I am a Canadian lawyer. Hence, I restrict my advice to Canadian immigration. You should be able to have an answer by contacting a US attorney.
