My brother in law and his spouse landed in canada in july 04 and then went back to dubai after collecting the PR card.Twins were born to them a year later.They returned to Canada last month with their 2year old twins who came here on a TRP [Temp Residence Permit] which was valid for 30days.My B/I/L applied for a extension to the TRP requesting an extension for 1 year.In the mean time he wants to apply for their permanent residence.
My questions
1] Does he have to wait for the TRP extension in order to apply for permanent residence
2] If not ,can he send the PR application now even though he is not employed yet.He does have a reasonable bank balance [about 75k].He also has a brother and sister who are citizens here and are well settled and can act as guarantors.
3] what is the procedure and where does he apply
4] what kind of time frame is he looking at
5]Will he have to go to delhi with his 2 yr old kids for an interviw
6]when and where does he have to do the medical exam for the kids
7]what are the fees?Are landing fees to be paid with the application
8}what is the procedure for landing since the kids are already here.
I would appreciate information and tips from other desis who have been through similar circumstances.
