HELP! LIST OF GOODS TO DECLARE WITH BAGGAGE AT THE TIME OF LANDING.
March 25,05
Happy Holi,dear Colleagues,
I shall be obliged if someone could clearly inform to me how to prepare the lists of goods (all times) when taking to Canada first time for landing purpose.
My questions/concerns are:-
1)Has each and every item which you are taking has to be declared?
2)How many copies of this list has to be prepared(duplicate, triplicte)?
3)Who checks(do they really check each and every goods mentioned?) all these goods/items at the airport/immigration counter?
4)Can one take XXX cd's /dvd's or is it banned or need not mention in the list(are they liable to be cofiscated)?
5)Most important being how to verify the DOCUMENTS provided with the passport along with the VISA sent from New Delhi/India before landing, because the travel/ticketing authorities will check only the passport when issuing tickets?
(the GENERIC document sent along )?Are there any specific codes related to amount to cary, landing destination(8634),etc?
Please oblige and inform to me full details, more information/links,etc on the above 5 questions as soon as possible.
CAPRICO

List of goods is goods that follow your landing after some period of time.
Sample list of goods to follow

List is required only for the goods that follow later. You require 2 copies. One they will stamp it and give it to you, one is with authorities.
They usually don't check each and every item that you carry with you.
AFAIK, CDs should not be a problem. Child pornography is illegal.
