Planning to buy a Toyota Camry in a few weeks . Are the prices in Canada fixed ( like India ) or can they be bargained like US .

Thanks

"Nomata where u go on this planet, u can always negotiate a car price." :D

Do ur research and u'll never go wrong.
My 2 cents : These 2 .coms make life easy for car buyers: leaseguide & carcostcanada

Thanks Bison

Checked out Carcostcanada and they are asking 39.99 for giving the invoice price of a car.

1) Is this invoice price real

2) Do the delaers actually agree to sell around this price or am I wasting my 39.99 . to get a price for which no dealer is agreeing to sell

Any experience with carcostcanada.com .

Thanks

Smiley --

You can obtain the invoice price of most vehicles from the latest consumer reports.
Check out the local library for this year's consumer reports (or last year's, if 2005 hasn't been released yet).
I believe it gets published in April each year, but not sure.

Even when they sell at the "Invoice price" they make a lot of money from Manufacturer;'s rebates and holdbacks . They are never at loss when they sell. Only thing that you can do with negotiating is to reduce their profits ..

Whoever said u cant get the dealers to pass on those rebates to u? Sure some many deny, but u can get thru ;) Did i just talk about bargaining a price lower than their initial cost price ? ;)

Idea is to give 'em 500-1000$ max on top of their FINAL cost price.
