Actually I wanted to reply to the above post by SINGHH73 but it was locked, therefore I am starting a new thread to discuss he above story.

I have only one question for this gentleman and that is if "But east or west, India is the best. If you are well settled back in
India, Canada is not worth the struggle of starting from scratch" then why he came here. He has mentioned that he had a good job in MNC. I feel that the above story is quite discouraging because this gentleman came here also and still he is suggesting others that if they are well settled in India, they should not come here.

What do others think about it? Any thoughts??

First of all my sincere apologies if I offended anybody by saying India is the best. Proabably I didn't put it across it in right manner. All I wanted to say is that from whatever limited experience I have about Canada, I do agree that Canada is a very nice country with lots of pluses but its also true that relocating to Canada from India has lots of costs involved in terms of going away from your culture, parents, relatives, friends, known and familiar surroundings and many more small small things about India. You miss family functions like cousin's marriages etc. etc. You miss festivals like holi, diwali, lohdi etc.. I am sure you will agree that these things have their own charm. So I feel if one is well settled in India with good salary and good future, life now a days is quite good in India too. e.g. if you take example of Gurgaon, it has really come up very well in terms of malls, multiplexes, good roads, pubs, clubs. Back in India also there are lots of options now a days and economy is booming. If I compare my life here with life I had in India, I really feel that now a days India also has quite many things like here. But then again as I said my experience is still limited to just 6 months here. Probably I might be wrong. So thats what I wanted to convey when I said, India is the best.

And another thing - By no means I wanted to discourage anybody. Rather my whole idea was to encourage our fellow friends so that they don't lose heart and keep looking for jobs in their fields because as they say -

Life is queer with its twists and turns
As each one of us sometimes learns
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out
So don't give up though the pace seems slow
You might succeed with another blow.
