Hi,

I Applied for Permanent Residency under the Skilled Workers Category in New Delhi in October 2003 and got my file number in the first week of December 2003.

When can I expect to get the PR status. The CIC website says it is currently taking about 4 years, but I know people who get it in 2 years from Delhi.

Any words of wisdom....?

The cic website has a period of 60+ months. I know of a number of guys who have applied mid 2002 but have not received anything. I guess the persons who received the visa's in 2 yrs had hrdc approved jobs..

I think they are clearing the backlog. Right now persons who applied in 2001 are getting interview waivers. Cases for 2002 will start soon it seems. For 2003 cases it might take a year or so....well that is a guess only!! 60 months is actually the maximum time of processing ,normally it takes 3 years ......well this is also a guess. I hope wait will not be very long now for 2003 caes too.......All the best .

I too applied for PR in Nov2003 and got my File no in Dec 2003.
Couple of my very close freinds who applied in 2001 got their visas
in 8 months and 13 months respectively. One another friend of mine applied in end 1999 and he got his Visas in April 2004.

I have not heard any case of 2003 getting any progress .
Lets see , You never know when you receive a letter from CIC out of blues.

Nothing is happening out of the blues anymore. It might have, for a lucky few, those before Jan 2002.
It is taking a firm 3+ years to hear anything : ie. IA, than another 6 to 8 months.
I'm an AOR Aug 2002, nothing so far.
As per the CHC NDelhi site, 42 months for Jan 2002 cases has started, can any one please post for which month of 2002 are the IA coming.

march 2002 applicant with ielts score 7.5
