First the time calculation is not correct as per my assumptions

To get the sponsorship approved : 1yr = 12 months
To get the decision on whether the case should be referred for
interview or not : 2 yrs + 2 months = 26 months

if Interview waived medical will be issued after 18 months

If medical is done at end of 18 months then visa will be issued in 12 months

Total time if you new applicant = 12 +26 +18 +12 = 68 months
= 6 years and eight months if interview is waived for parents.

Interesting Hmmmmmmmmm

Further, Judy Sgro will not do anything, doesn't she look to be too arrogant.

Write to local MPs as many time as possible specially MPs of India Origin. I am going to write to mine in coming week. Write to Opposition MPs, spread the word.

What I can find there are four or five responses in this forum. That is not enough. It is not big problem for them.

If we could find some connection in local newspapers (Toronto Star, National Post, Globe and Mail, Toronto Sun), where this aspect can be published full blown.

Write to local South Asian Organizations.

I am in a way consoled that June 2002 cases are pending, my mother case of Jan 2003.

i got a typical situation.Well in my case i had applied for sponsership of my parents in year July 2003.At that time my income level was 32000Cdn.(i had to show 29250$ for the preceeding 52 weeks).I got a letter from the CIC-Mississauga about my application receipt on May 2004.
Now the situation is i was working till June 25th 2004.And now currently iam on EI.
My question is will it have any implication on my parents sponsership application now. Will i have to maintain the same level of income for 3 -4 years considering the time now it takes for clearing the parent sponsership file.
Ur comments will be highly appreciated
thanks

Good Question,

Actually I have asked same to my lawyer. She told me it's not required to maintain the same level of income for 3-4 years. Actually once the file get approve from Mississauga, the income level checking is finished. But for to being here, you have to maintain same level to get survive right? It's minimum salary to survive in Toronto. As well as, when your parent case they will start for processing in India, may be they can recheck again your income level, but anyhow that will happen after 2-4 years so until then you are ok. Also, when they come here, you should have a job, that's what you sign initially to being sponsor that you will take care financially for parent up to 10 years. Also, as they haven't work in Canada they are eligible for very minimum pension from government, so personally I think if you can maintain this level, it’s worth to call them here.. Otherwise, it will be hard financially. Also, as you are aware of the fact about medical changes, lots of things now you have to pay so if your parent have medical problem where you have to pay include that as well in your expense.

Please Note: As a sponsored, you should be inside the country while your file is in process. You can go outside the country to visit, or for business but not to settle down or work somewhere else. (Because you are here well settle, you wish to call your parent to being with you is the main purpose of your immigration process.)
I am planning to move US after I become citizen next year, but I shouldn’t work full time in US / (Business contract is ok) until my parent immigration is finish.

The problem started behind parent immigration is, Canada immigration policy was for only to increase their economy level. So to attract skilled people they were use to have good parent immigration process, but they were really not happy to do this because of huge medical burden. So after Sept. 11 they got excuse, because of that we have pilled up all the files from 2000 year, and we are planning to move slowly for security reason. What security they want to check for parent?
Also, I have sometime discussion with Canadian who born here, there is big lobby of people who are born and citizen here think it’s good to call immigrate for economy, but not their old parent. For them, as parent is old they can’t give good contribution to economy and use the health care as well as government pension plan etc. it’s just burden to the system.
That’ just proves you in which kind of society you are going to be part of, which is really SAD.

Hello All,

Please visit the following website.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/times-int/2003-Q3/08-fc-parents.html

It is taking huge time to process family class (parents/grand parents) applications.

We should raise our voice in this matter in the form of petetion to immigraion minister.

We need advise from Mr. Masood who is our immigration expert.

Hi Binal,

Really SAD things for parent immigration. Now a days, visitor visa for parent also become tough now a day. You can not easily visit your parent at home country due to job in-security in Canada.

???
