I am planning to format my computer, and install FireFox. Is there any way to export my username-password data from Netscape into a text/CSV/xls file and then import it into new browser?
I know you can import-export favourites, but there is no feature to manage username-password data.

you can try the following if you are using Windows 2000 or XP.. no guarantee though
1. Install Firefox and import all the settings (Including Passwords) from Netscape.
2. The Back up the file
C:\Documents and Settings\<User_Name>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<something>.default\signons.txt
3. Format and install Firefox on reformatted machine.
4. Put the file signons.txt back to its place.
5. You can take the whole folder "Documents And Settings" as back up to make sure u have all the required data in new machine.
