SOME TIME A LITTLE RESEARCH DOES HELP...IT GOES A LONG WAY....

The price of portable memory was slowly going down and I was waiting to pick A TB of portable memory for about 40 bucks. But it got reversed and it started to move upwards, but slowly. The High end memories started to appear and the costs also proportionately got doubled. So, I can get TWO TB's for 89 bucks or there about. The lower ones are becoming obsolete.

Same for the jump drives, cruiser drives or the data travelers. Now the Smaller data travelers slowly vanished and now bigger ones are coming up on the makets as the demand for the bigger ones is increasing. So also the prices are moving up proportionately. The lower ones are becoming obsolete or hard to come by.

That goes for the computer memories also, you can get 64 or 128 gig of Ram rather than a 16 or a 32. I know your computer will run very fast with a higher RAM Memory.

Here are some of my observations, the people in business want to sell all of us REDUNDANCY and make a larger sale than with the sale of a stocking stuffer for five bucks or less. Is that the only reason? NO!!

Now for the best part... You can use the STICK, which is a jump drive, for EXTRA RAM in your lap top or in your desk top. It is called using the same as "BOOSTER MEMORY". WOW !!! I am now in luck. Clean out the old jump drive, right click and FORMAT the stick and tell it to become a Booster memory.

Now my computer runs super FAST.

Last saturday at STAPLES I bought a few EIGHT GIG Kingston Data Travelers and loaded it up into the USB drive as RAM in each of my computers and VOILA, I am now running at a speed that I never knew that it existed.

If need be, I will also use it for carrying data if I ever run out of Data travelers.

TRY IT OUT. Hope you find it useful.

Research does pay.... OR is it that I just woke up..

That is a really cool idea. I didn't know we could do that. Anyways, link below tells you in real easy steps how to do it.

There is a caveat though. One, you won't be able to use that memory stick for storage, while you're using it as a Flash Memory. And second, the memory is temporary. If your computer is running slow, the better option and a parmanent solution are to replace and extend the memory on board.

The very same reason why Flash Memory sticks are not popular at all.
