Experience is good and comfortable. Only problem in journey is longer wait at Niagra Falls. It is about 2.5 to 3 hrs. Another disadvantage is that travel is in day time so you tend to loose whole day in traveling. Tickets on Friday and Saturday are 10% costlier than compare to weekdays.

Dear Cds,
I need experienced CDs advise on the following :
I have to travel to NJ to meetup with some school friends nearing the end of October. I plan to start on Sat Oct 27 and return by Oct 30 (return is flexible).
Since I am alone, what would be the suggested mode :

1. Drive a rental car all the way? - Most rental companies are closed on saturdays and I need to pay for friday as well...:( - Also the drive for about 11-12 hrs will be very lonely and tiresome.

2. Take greyhound upto NY/NJ and rent a car locally?
3. Take VIA rail upto NY/NJ and rent a car locally?

I would have preferred the rail, but the timings are not so great - only 1 train in the day.

What do experienced CDs have as advise - for any of these or something better than this?

I would rate safety-comfort-economy-convienence in that order...

rgds,
Hiren
