Ok I got a voice mail from the recruiter updating me on the current status of the background check that is currently being conducted.
He did confirm that background checks can sometimes take a while and we have no choice but to wait. It's been going on for a week now but he said that the 'offer' is going to come really soon (subject to the results of the background check, of course). Good thing I was able to resist the temptation of following up with them because if I did that, that may affect my leverage when we reach the $$$ negotiations

I think its pretty good. However it depends what structure you're in. Its EXCELLENT if you're going through a recruiter. If there's not middlem-man, you could get a bit more.
Regardless, this is good money in Canada by any standards.

I was told last Friday that the offer would come anytime this week. As of last Friday, they're still waiting for the background check results. I'll keep you guys posted. =)
