Could i ask what are the average salaries, for persons in IT field, I am a Software Lead and recently i was offered 60-65k with Telus,AB.

when asked on my expectations i had stated a higher figure which they said isnt possible
Is 65k a average salary with 8-10 yrs of exp?

On a separate note, would you mind telling if, and how long the background checks took place before your offer was confirmed?

I received an offer letter with a similar pay packet from a consulting firm working for TELUS as the client at BC, but they said that background checks need to be done, as well as some checks from TELUS. It's been almost 2 weeks, and hence was wondering if you endured any such checks, and if so, how long it has taken.
