I totally agree with you. Fake certificates and doing a computer course , or just learning something, just before you land in Canada may not do any good.When people with real talent get jobs in Canada, irrespective of their age, it is brushed as mere luck.It is not.Hope Desis realise that.

Thanks. Just got the official offer letter yesterday morning. I just signed it and I'm going to fax it to them tomorrow. After that, it's OFFICIAL. =)

The recruiter was also kind enough to increase my hourly rate some more to cover for my relocation.

Congratulations noypi,

we are also in the same situation like you. My husband has totall 8 and half years IT experience. And we are also searching for jobs in canada.

I have some quick questions

1) What's your area of expertize ?

2) Did you facing questions like "Canadian Experience " While you are applying for a Job.

I have been in the IT industry for almost 10 years now and I'm currently involved with VB and Oracle PL/SQL programming. I also have strong background with other databases such as Sybase, MS Access and DB2. With my new job in Canada, I'm basically going to perform the whole software development life cycle plus production support. I'm also going to support the Oracle and DB2 group when the need arises.

As for Canadian Experience, I wasn't asked about this. I guess my 5+ years working in the US saved me from this dreadful question. =)

Hi noypi,

How did u get hold of recruiters being in U.S? Are there websites of these? Would appreciate if u can post that info.

Since regular jobsites would not provide all this info?

It is better to land a job before arriving in Canada.

Does 4-5 yrs U.S experience count or we still need to have Canadian experience to land a job?
