One of my fav. questions someone ever asked me about India was - "so...do you have trees in India"?
Answer - no, all our elephants eat sand.

"Have you ever seen electricity before?" (This was an actual question to my friend at Univ. of Arkinsas)
To which he replied "No, its the first time I've seen it after landing in the states in my row boat. Its a wonderful invention."

I used to work in a call centre for US customers. The most common Q, I havebeen asked was,
"How many snakebites did you have ?"
Unfortunately, I couldn't answer back.

My today's experience....
My son's first day at school...we landed 15 min. early and were chatting...a Guayanese lady came up to me and said ' Are you new here? You are talking in English!!!!!!!!! You are from India and you talk ENGLISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! she beckons her son ' Charles......look they are from India and they TALK ENGLISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been speechless since......

It is so simple to be happy but so difficult to be simple
That is the reason they just can't digest that 'these desi, illeterate people , don't know how but are great at computers, have got good english & degrees & stealing all the jobmarket.what the heck??...'
They were thinking that we still ride elephants, we still have snakebites, we don't know English & we don't have food to eat & probably have not seen electricity & we Indian we let them keep thinking what ever they want & while they were thinking we went right into their land & showed them that We know everything that they know & probably more. we can survive better in their land as well. If they have to spend even just week in our land, that is where will come to know who is better.
