Where can I find mango leaves ? It is considered holy and I need it to perform puja at my house in Mississauga.

You can use Maple leaves instead. Seriously, we do not have any other options and local priests do give you such liberty.

Thinking logically it makes sense too. We use fruits/leaves etc. in our puja to express our gratitude towards nature. Mango trees being very common in India are used in Puja for the same reason. However we use Ashok Vrukh leaves - similar in look to Mango tree leaves - in Gujarat.

Here as we have tons of Maple trees we can use them. Remember religion should be dynamic

Rightly said. In the absence of real flowers one has to use 'Kaagaj Ke Phool'. I remember long back, while in India, we had to use some mud instead of holy 'Cow Dung' for Dussahra pooja. On first 'Karwa Chouth' in Canada, when we were living in rented basement and asked permission of landlord (not Indian) to go to his backyard to see chanda Mama how uncomfortable he was. I am in China now and in the absence of any 'Desi Ghee' , have to use candels as 'Diyas'.

Yes, u find in west indian stores.. (they come with neem leaves/BIlwa/tulsi )

if this location is closer: FInch/ALbion (exact Intersection ALbion/highway 27) ..there is also an Indian Grocery store facing Albion.

Hi,
you can get real mango leaves in Scarborough - Lucky gorceries near Mccowan and Shepherd,
Greenlands-near Finch and tapscott.

if u live in missassauga, u know dundas fruits at hwy 10 and dundas.

they have mango leaves. otherwise u can go at any indian store they all do.
one more option contact ur nearest mandir, may be oakville one. they can definately tell u the place where to get them

by the way congratulation for new home.(if i get it right)
