Hello,

Ok here is my question, If you become a landed PR in Canada and go back to US on a H1B, do you need to pay taxes for both US and Canada?

If someone has any experience on this issue please reply.

Thanks

no you have to pay taxes in the country of residence or work. You will be living and working in US so pay your taxes there. But you do know that you have to stay 3 yr out of 5 in Canada in order to keep up your PR no?

The Canadian PR ( or even American PR ) gives you the right to live, work and move freely ( both within the country and right to leave and enter the country at will given the status is valid ) . This privilege also has responsibilities . We are supposed to declare our world income . No matter where we work . Also if one has assets ( like house / lands) exceeding a certain amount in native country you have to declare to CRA. Talk to a qualified Accountant and get the professional opinion. THis forum is for exchange of ideas and information. THis has to be verified/ co related before you make any decision

Wrong. You need to be physically resident in Canada, for 3 out of the previous 4 years, before you can apply for your citizenship.
