In any case, these words are way too commonly used and it would be prudish in the extreme to be prohibited. Members here are adults.
Tell me, if you can sit and watch Hollywood movies, where these words are used in some of them every time you grab a potato chip and not get all wound up, why cry foul otherwise.
In any case, if you want to maintain double standards that’s your choice.

This is not that type of forum where moderators are detached from the debate. And I'm not taking any sides here. If we all agree to not make personal attacks (myself J3D, Diogenes, you, ALL INCLUDED), I think we'll all do quite well.
I don't exactly have as much time as I'd like to on Cdesi. So if someone sends me a complaint and expects action right away, that's NOT going to happen. DTC was certainly justified in his complaint and I would've followed up with J3D, he never gave me the chance.

That was my point exactly. It is impossible to have a situation where no one makes fun of any one. I will however not allow a situation where moderators are being made fun of for pointing something legit out. And FYI I wasn't referring to DTC's post in that context.

Because he belongs to one of the "Canada - The worst place to live" or "The Loser immigrant population - why dont they go back", etc... camps.
If as a Mod you begin to take sides in a debate so as to issue warnings, bannings, that is a recipe for more trouble.
The first mod who saw this thread got it wrong as DTC addressed above.
Either that or missed the sequence of events.
I participate in forums where the MOD/Admin is completely detached from the debate part.
Unfortunately, its part of the territory of being a MOD or in a wider context in a position of any power.
Also, we are adults and when adults talk all sorts of stuff is said. My only point earlier in this thread was not to get into peoples' personal lives.
And that personal remarks based on the content of peoples posts are different from personal remarks about someone's family, age, job situation.
Am I saying doing the former is ok? no. But it is impossible to prevent too.
Remember when Manjeet444 made some personal comments againt you.
Wasnt that out of line and you let him know in no uncertain terms that there is a line that one should not cross and the consequences?
Didnt you have a protracted argument with him where you called each other all sorts of things?
But when the personal comments about you family were made, you got mad enough to tell him you would ban him.

hey..you dont make the rules and decide what is 'personal' and what is not. Dumping on posts like you did with GIG(calling him a clown...when you were the last thing, if at all, on his mind) and ridiculing VJ job(telemarketing) etc are also 'personal' in my book. You find logic in your response(and use of bodily functions)... I find logic in mine to you. We just have to agree to disagree.
Anyway...instead of dragging this on let me end this(or try to) by apologizing to you DTC for my conduct. However, justified it may have seemed to me...I did give in to my baser instincts. I do not expect you to accept the apology or NOT try to hitback at me.
You have to find your own way to get what I have said out of your system and I accept that. I'm doing the same for myself by apologizing and not hitting back anymore.

I believe if you to run this board with a strong and even hand, it is requisite that the hand or a substitute be present most if not all the time. You have 4 or 5 mods, why are they not here? Give them clear directions. They can issue warnings and report the poster to you for further action.
If the code allows, add a report function where people can report offending posts. This way you dont always have to go though each post to keep track.
Of course someone would have to be receiving it and acting on it quick.

you could do with a little of that 'Dr.Phil' thing I gave out earlier. Unfortunately, I do not have the time or the inclination. People living in glass houses should not be throwing stones.
