This is an advise to immigrants who are going to land in future or who have landed recently. Please check your landing papers. The name in landing papers should be exactly written as it is written on passport. During landing time, we are so tired of travelling for 30-32 hours that, we wish to reach our desitnation faster and in fact we don't have an idea landing officers also can make such mistakes. In my and my daughters case, he did not put last name and now we are facing problem. Banks are not accepting PR card, because PR card and landing papers are inter-related. Your PR card name will be same as landing papers name. so, if landing officers make mistakes ask the officer politely to rectify otherwise, you will have to ask authorities later on to change name in PR card. I am still waiting for the rectification papers which has to be filled and submitted again.

I guess, most of the information ( Name , date of birth etc.,) is generated by the system that prints landing paper from the original information in the database and I do not know how this mistake can happen. If it is happening, it time for the software gurus to step into, analyze and advise the CIC.
