Dear All,
This question is for your expert advice. I landed in Canada as PR in August, 2001. But due to nature of my job with Oil Companies I am working on 4 weeks ON/OFF pattern that is 4 weeks on oil rig ( mainly in Middle east) followed by 4 weeks rest in my home at Toronto. My employer are not from Canada. I am filing Income tax etc. on my world income + my children & wife are always here. They have all become citizen last week.
I had completed only about 0.4*365*4=around 600 days so will it be possible for me to apply for citizenship. I know that for maintaining my PR status is not a problem as I always maintain more thaen 40% ( 2 out of 5 years criteria).
I am aware it is possible to apply for citizenship if you stayed for more then 3 yaers out of 4 years period( but is it physical stay or just ties?).
If they turn down my aplication, will it effect my aplication in future?
Thanks

I am no expert at it, but in my opinion, you should not have a problem in getting your citizenship.
And by the way, this question has nothing to do with driving - the section under which you have put your query!!
