Hey All,
Can anyone suggest me any good driving instructor/school in Mississauga area.
I have done driving in India for more than 5 yrs and hence just looking for couple of learning sessions to get comfortable with the roads n rules here.
Please suggest if you know any good Instructor/School.
And also what kind of driving activity asked to do in the G1/G2 road tests ?
Thanks in advance
i wanna share my exp. with u guyz on license verification.
i tried twice at Toronto, Etobicoke(eglinton ave) driving test centre and on both ocassion they ask me for license verification, so i guess its no more depend upon mood of CSR or luck but looks like the Licensing authorities made it compulsory.i went there twice and found every CSR was asking for verification to all the people(not only desi's) who have license from their countries.I am not sure about the other location but if anybody going to Etobicoke centre make sure you have the verification letter ready with you. if u dont have it during knowledge/vision test still they will let u go thru knowledge/vision test but will make a note and ask u to bring it later on in order to get ur experience counted.
fees for G1 is $125 which includes road test fees as well
for the verification letter you can ask ur family/relatives in india to get this letter from the transport authority who issued ur license.
knowledge test
There are 40 ques in all
20 on traffic signals & lights
20 on rules
i think you can count 20 on the traffic signals & lights ques coz its really very easy & simple , just go thru all the traffic signs/signals in the handbook.
rest 20 ques on rules may make a diff. but if u go thru the handbook then there wont be any prob in clearing it as well.
I gave similar knowledge test in Vancouver which was relatively tough to clear coz they had 50 ques and mostly based on rules(very few on signals/signs) and decision making in diff traffic scenarios.
Here its simple and I did it in first go
best of luck to all.
thx
This website has a list of instructorus who would give you a approved driving course.
http://www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/dandv/driver/gradu/approve.htm#m
With every course comes a certificate which will lower your annual insurance.
Call the schools around your area. The prices will vary from 300 to 850 depending on where you call. But make sure to ask them they will give you a the certificate to lower your insurance
I live near to square one mall and am taking lessions from a Chinese instructor. I am paying 320 inlcuding taxes for 25 hrs classromm + 10 hrs driving.
I have 8 years driving experience in India and i feel it is very important to get atleast 10 hours with a instructor as driving here is different. People over here ASSUME you will follow the rules about lanes and turn and if you dont you will get into a accident unlike India where people expect u to do the unexpected and are prepared to brake.
The chinese guy is OK with Ok english skills. If you are intersted let me know i will give you his number.

Also as you have driven for more than 4 years in India so you can directly go for G.
I am also going directly for G and plan to give the test in the next 25-30 days.

Guyz ,
I am ignorant abt the Canadian driving Lisence process. Please advise on the most efficient & cost effective way bearing the following :
1. I have 05 year Indian driving experience .
2. I have 02 years Bahraini driving experience .
3. I wish to apply for Ontario driiving lisence.
Kindly put the process in brief . Is it better 2 apply for a driving lisense asap as there are some benefits 1 can receive for an initial period if having other countries ' DL.
Manasvi.
