Hi Friends,
I am new to Toronto. I have more than 5 yrs Driving experience in Middle east.
I have driving experience letter from Authorities in the Middle east and would submit in Toronto Driver's examination centre.
I want to know the following:
1) The website says the applicant has the option to choose either G1 OR G2 Road test. If the applicant chooses G1 road test, then after passing G1, the applicant can apply for G2 Road exit test.
What is the difference between G1 & G2. Why they give option to applicant to choose to attempt G1 or G2 ?
2) Which centre in GTA is good for driving test? I have seen somewhere BRAMPTON Testing centre is too difficult to pass. I live near to Markham.
Appreciate inputs. Thanks.
Hi NM
I am sure there are previous threads to answer this but just to summarize,
When you apply and clear written test you get G1
When you Clear inner street/ road test you get G2
When you Clear HW road test then you get G
The letter will not give you driving license directly. Most middle east licenses are accepted and MTO credits experience on canadian license. You should show your middleeast driving license to claim experience. This will allow you to attempt G directly without any wait period. If you fail G then you have clear G2 and then attempt G again. Good thing is that you don't have any wait period at any stage.
hope this helps.

Personally, I think one should take 10 hours of training and attempt directly for G. The reason I recommend training is because of slight differences in rules & regulations and also to familiarize with test route. If you fail then you have to give G2 and then G.
PS: Don't forget to show your license when applying for license. I don't think there is second chance to claim experience.
