Hi Guys,
I decided to apply for PR now and was just looking at application requirements. I saw that I need to submit a copy of my birth certificate together wit my application. I am just curous if I can submit my Matric certificate fot the same. Like majority of Indians I also dont have any birth certificate made at the time I was born.. Do I really need a birth certificate ?? please share your experience !!!!!

If it is not possible to get birth certificate, attested copy of matric certificate will do.

Did you get a birth certificate from consulate in Toronto? Or is it something like birth certificate, but not exactly? When I contacted the Embassy in the US, they told me that the do not issue a birth certificate, but they will give some certificate which says where I was born and who were my parents etc...
I hope that certificate will work.
Well it will arrive sometime next week. I will let u know wats written in that. But when I was appying the form was titled as application for certification of date of birth. In my opinion that would be good enough because these guys write specifically what they need like they ask for notarized documents, sealed envelope transcripts but nothing specific is mentioned in birth certificate column so it should work..
anyway i will update u once i get certificate
