Hello All,
I am in an rental aptmt and since i moved (2 months ago) , 2 phone points out of 3 are not working. Now 3rd point also stopped working and bell technician says it is bcos of other 2 jacks which he replaced.
I asked mgmt office to pay for that and their response was that in all rental arrangement, mgmt is never responsible for phones.
IS this true ? any web site to confirm ?
Thanks
The standard policies per phone company is anything on the street upto the point outside the home is the responsibility of the phone company.
Anything from inside the walls of the house and further is the homeowner's responsibility. Based on that, phone jacks (the one's that you plug the phone into) are homeowner's problem. Since you live in rental, it may be your landlord's responsibility.
However, spend 30 minutes and read through the rental contract and ask your landlord to explicitly show where it says whatever he claims.

well, i know that abt inside n outside responsibility of phoen co.
My lease contract does not specifically say anything about the phones. The mgmt claims that no mgmt of any rental bldg is responsible for phones. And I do not know from where to confirm that, so I just wanted to ask if any one of you went thru same situation and know anything to confirm or deny this.
thanks
