Hi,
I am also floating in the same boat and I will appreciate if u can give me your contact no. so we could discuss further on the same line.
This is Mr. Massood's domain regarding immigration issues. However since discussion is already on:
1. When you are PR of Canada you have to file a return for your global income. You will take credit for the taxes paid elsewhere, (e.g. US) and pay the balance amount in Canada.
2. Since you would be earning in US and have tax deducted at source, you will have to file return in US also.
3. So for you, first you finalise your US return, pay any additional taxes payable, or claim refund; then prepare your Canada return, take credit for taxes already paid/deducted at source in US and pay the balance tax due in Canada, if any.
Quite simple, just need a calculator and a head for figures.
Part of the biggger game you are playing, I guess.
