I have been in Canada for four years before that i was in India.
I had applied for us immigartion under family class. My case number has comes up now for process.
I need some advice from experts or some one who has face this type of situation in the past.
Question1
How can i get police certificates in Toronto, Canada? What is the process?
Question 2
Do i need police certificates from India too,(I am a canadian citizen now.). If yes, How can i get it without going to India?
Please give me feedback, anyone who knows about it. Any other iformation which is helpful to me to complete my application process smoothly.

US immigration requires RCMP police clearance. As far as I know, they do not require fingerprint clearance. So, all you have to do is go to the nearest RCMP detachment with your US case document and request police clearance. It is $25 and would take few minutes for them to print out the clearance. Since there must exist a clear and specific purpose for the clearance request, it is important not to forget the US document.
You'll have to get police clearance from all the countries where you have lived since 18 years of age. So, yes, the US might insist on it if the above applies to you. I am not sure how to obtain once you have relinquished Indian citizenship. But in a totally different matter, we have been able to convince the requestor about the lack of integrity or credibility of Indian police certificates and have been able to get a waiver. I say this because, I have obtained police certificate a long time ago with my dad paying the necessary bribes.

how long it took ur friend to get his us immigration visa under family class please advise if u have any idea about time frame, as my application is also under process i have received approval from us consulate in USA and they are saying that the file is transferred to montreal but then dont know how long it will take from here now if any idea please advise.
