Dear Sir,
Im in a real confusion and I would appreciate if somebody clears it up so I can relax.
I immigrated to Canada on January 19th 2005. Im a Permanent resident and my wife is a citizen.
I want to know if I can visit to India on my Indian passport around June/July 2006?
It will be around a year and half after staying in Canada. I only want to visit india for a month and wants to come back. But I have heard from somebody that before Three (3) years I cannot travel outside canada anywhere, otherwise I wont be able to qualify for citizenship, and even I will lose my permanent resident status.
Please help me as its very important for me to find out.
as I just answere your quetion befor. you have to stay in canada for 1095 days in total out of 5 yrs. / you can most certainly travel in and out of the country as often as you want as long as you can add all the days that you spent IN CANADA to be 1095 days out of 5yr i. 1825 days.
we travel in and out all the time. this will be true for all yrs till the time you become citizen. they want you to stay here and work here and not as before that ppl used to come once in 2 yrs stay for a week and get their pension checks.
Hi,
To keep your PR active, you need to stay in Canada for 2 years out of 5 years.
To be eligible for citizenship, you should have stayed in Canada for 3 years out of 4 years .
rajen is right. sorry my mistake. but you are allowed to visit anyplace in the world .
