Any CD members who have recently (say in 2006) moved from USA and imported a 2004 model vehicle?
Any special things to consider ?
Could you please share some information on this experience?
I have a 2004 Toyota Sienna.
Thanks in Advance.

The procedure is same for most of the passenger vehicles up to 10 years old. Check http://www.riv.ca" rel="nofollow">LINK for details.
If it is included in goods to follow list then you only pay import fee (~$200) otherwise GST + PST of the purchase price or the value assessed by the customs officer. They follow their red book (their version of kbb) unless you have some document stating the current value of the car. If the vehicle is made outside of North America then you have to pay 6% custom duties too.
Thanks Smiley and Pwin,
I have that link with me, and gone through all the procedures for the import
of the vehicle. Hope things will be fine.
I did not mentioned in the GTF list, I completed my landing in June'04.
so I guess I have to pay the required dues etc.
Anything else, out of this manual I need to consider?
Nope
You should be fine

If it is not mentioned in the GTF list you have to pay the dues. I had to pay.
Although it is at the custom officer discretion, if you can convince them that it is your vehicle for more than last 6 months and a reason why it is not in the GTF list he may waive it.
