Hello!
Just wanted to share an observation with you people which i had been noticing for past several months.
Most people using CD website post only on weekends from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. It is very hard to see any postings on weekends (Except by the moderators or an ocassional guy who finds CD website on the weekend , likes it so much and goes on to post pages of postings e.g. Big B)
Is this to infer that most people access CD Website only from the office and use it as a time pass? and that people post in CD forums from the office to break the office monotony and forget about the site and its values (at a personal level and this will vary from individual to individual) at home - be it weekday or at weekends? Or is Indo-Canadian culture such that people have no free time once they reach home on weekdays and weekends?
I for one use CD from my office but also come home and see the postings from home too. For me CD has become a part of life each day (a necessity just like answering nature's call).

Side note :By "Values" i mean the great contribution that this site is providing to Canadian Desi's in terms of being a one stop site for exchange of our ideas and information to the Canadian Context. I am sure that each and every one who visits and/or contributes to this site have benifited much from it.
just to quote an example : i discovered the site freepostit.com through this CD Site and i have been able to send so many pictures to india free o charge (FOC) which i used to spend tens of dollars to send before.

What do you mean by the 'values' of this site?

I know that on weekends..between house work, grocery shopping, social obligations taking care of two dogs... and spending time with my spouse - I have generally little time online.

im sort of glad its slow on the weekends because then i can catch up to the thread on monday !!

Well, It is for the individaul to take out some time (to come and post views / reply to queries on CD) to help out the community in general.
So I see nothing wrong, if some one posts only on weekends or only on weekdays.

In my case I have liberty and time as well to access CD site even at office and on weekends I do take out some time for CD.
(The reason being on weekdays one can not run through all the posts, which I do on weekends)

Also I pick the ones to reply only if I think , that I am competent enough to reply.

I think I found the answer for my situation. I am currently sitting through a boring Webex based training and ...take a wild guess what I am doing??

Some of the reasons could be:

I do not have internet at home!

My wife gives me more work than does my boss……..

There is a bed at home but not in office
