Who is included in the census?
The census includes every man, woman and child living in Canada on Census Day, as well as Canadians who are abroad, either on a military base, attached to a diplomatic mission, or at sea or in port aboard Canadian-registered merchant vessels. Persons in Canada including those holding a temporary resident permit, study permit or work permit, and their dependents, are also part of the census.
Just completed it online. Took around 7-8 minutes.
Would have loved to see some of the questions customized based on the responses to others.

HI!
Filled the paper format and is ready to be posted.
Wonder how many people respond to it. I am sure that many will not even care to fill it in. How will they be able to find the true population/ other demop. based on this? It is very crude for a country like Canada. Census , unlike Voting is more important for statistical purposes.

If legal,
what happens to those who donot care?
Will any action be taken against them? if so, what kind. I still have my census form in my bag. I may or maynot post it. If i donot post it, what will happen?
I think, it is just a request from the govt.. and not a command.

As I understand it too, completing the census questionnaire is a legal obligation.
According to the Statscan website, if you don't complete it, you will get a call from an agent asking if you need assistance.
On a radio show, I heard that there was a $500 fine for not completing it. Haven't seen confirmation of that on their website or anywhere else though, so not sure if that is an urban myth.
