Hi,
I went to Canada in 2004 for a year. My stay got extended in Canada and I received a new work-permit as my old work-Permit was expired, which is valid till Oct 2006. But as I was in Canada only, so couldn’t (didn’t) get my visa stamped. Then I came back to India 4 months back. But now I need visa to reenter Canada, even though I have a valid work-permit.
I had applied for PR in Canada last year while I was in Canada.
I am applying for Visa from India now. There is a Question (number 19->e), which says “Applied for any Canadian Visas” (e.g. PR, student, worker, temporary resident (visitor), temporary resident permit?). I’m confused what should I mention in that? I can say yes for this Question and give my WorkPermit number (old as well the current valid), but should I also give my PR file number as well?
Would that have any effect on my visa application
If I don’t tell my file number would that have any effect ? I don’t want to give the file number as my employes doesn’t know about my PR application and I don’t
want to let them know as well.
Please suggest…!
Thanks,
Rahul

it is nice to be important..but it is more importanat to be NICE
Thanks Dear !
But my question was not really whether my stay in Canada without any visa would create a problem in getting visa this time. I had followed the right procedure to renew my WP when my stay got extended in Canada. And one doesn't get Visa stamped on extension as it has to be from your home country or atleast outside Canada.
My real concern here is whether I should mention my PR application number on my visa application ? As then my emploeyr would come to know that I have applied for PR which I don't want and if I don't mention CIC may reject my Visa application as I haven't provided all the info they had asked for...!
Confused Rahul

Thanks,

you have to mention ur PR file no, they are embassy people and not lallu panju. they will enter ur name in the database and will find out all people with ur name who filed for PR. then they will check ur parents names, if more then 1 person exist with same names. and it takes maximum of 2 minutes to do this. thanks to computers and technology.
and if u will not mention ur PR file no, then u will be fired permanntly from entering canada.
and as far ur employer is concern, he will not get angry but will be happy to give u job as he know u may get permanent in country one day and will be able to serve him longer without need of work permit. (i am assuming ur employer is canadian)
and if he is indian, then u r right, he should not know of ur PR status. this may give him insecurity that u may leave his job.
