Its 2 out of 5 years.
We got our PR in NOV 2004 and plan to go to Canada for good in July of 2007 (just 3-4 months before the first 3 years will expire)
By that time we will be out of Canada for almost 32 months...besides first month and a visit for 7 days in between.
That will leave more than 2 years in our hand to live in Canada in total 5 year period and some more...Do you think we will have problems at the border?? What kind of questioning should we expect???
We do not have any bank accounts or helath cards..Only have our SIN and PR card...and have not paid any income taxes either in last few years...Your expert advise is appreciated.
thanks,
you can remain outside canada for a period of three years in a period of five year from the date of landing.in my opinion if you are entering in canada before november 2007 there will not be any problem.

Having being to Canada for a couple of days and then coming back to US I realized that there is no good record of how many days I stayed over there. I stayed for three days. However since there is no stamps from US or Canadian side of when I re-entered US by car I can't prove that except for my hotel bill. However, if someone stayed with friends/family over there for three months how would they prove that?

Souvik
