The older you are the more difficult it is too find a job - tho I consider 45 to not be very old. Depends on your skills and type of job you are looking for. Example computer field is full of younger people and they tend to get hired. Also I believe you get less points on the points system if over a certain age. You should mention what field of work you are looking for

But what sort of job are you looking for ?

You can get a menial job no problem - but what field are you skilled in ?

There are jobs in your field and I believe your skills are transferable - your age should not put you at a disadvantage. Howver like most of the West - computer jobs are not as prevalent as they once were , so you will have to compete with others.
