Yes Indian accounting qualification is not recognised. However B.Com of India is considered equivalent to 3rd level CGA (Certified General Accountant) out of 5 levels. The rest 2 level take a minimum of 2 years to complete.
Whatever people might say, age is a bar today, not only in Canada but even in India, specially if one has reached a high level professionally by the age of 40-42. Today's world believes not so much in experience and loyalty, but in new ideas, enthusiasm, new ways of doing things, and cutting costs by hiring less experienced people.

They normally help people migrating to Canada to get work experience in their related fields. It is Govt. funded and there is no cost for a 6 weeks program followed by co-op placement in a company that matches to their past skills.
I have known people from various background like mktg., engg., accounts, logisitics etc. getting placed co-op candidates and then getting job offers from the same employers. Their placement success is over 85%. Even if one does not get a job at the end, one ends up with so called Candaian work experience and certificate and some credits in education that can be used for education purpose.
And mind you the companies they choose are all top notch.
