I am considering a condo to buy and was wondering if I should get it inspected by a home inspector or not.
There is not going to be any exterior, roof or basement. Everything between the walls (plumbing/electrical) is the management company responsibility. Furnace/AC unit is owned by the management co. The things I will own or will be responsible for are appliances, fixtures, faucets, walls doors, flooring etc. and some visible plumbing which looks ok to me.
Am I missing something?
Is this a condo apartment?
How old is this property?
You should follow your Realtor's advice on this subject as he is the man on field.

While the main purpose of the home/condo inspection is find trouble spots, nevertheless my advice to my clients is to use this opportunity to ask questions on maintenance and upkeep of the property. A good qualified home inspector will run you by maintenance tips on plumbing, electricals, appliances, hardwood/ceramic floors, air quality issues, water purity etc. etc.
And who said that there cannot be any maintenance problems in the condos. More will depend upon the age of the condo as well. Your REALTOR would probably be aware of any recent maintenance issues of the condo you are buying. End of the day, the choice to have the inspection or not rests with you.
