I read your query on Pitampura/Rajouri garden Rohini area. Pitampura is very expensive in 30 lacs you can buy a house floor 1350-1800 sq feet (I don't think there's any land left in there!). Now a days in colonies like pitampura/Shalimar bagh they sell floors. A house with four floors and owned by all of them (floor wise). Rohini you can still get a nice apartment in 30lac. No idea on Rajouri garden but I think the area is an old one.

Fido.
Fido, Gurgaon is also good. The international airport renovations has already hiked the prices in Gurgaon and nearby areas. We are planning for a home in there.

For the same reason Dwarka is on my radar as it is midway b/w Delhi & Gurgaon and well linked on the Metro. Alas there s no land there being a Govt area .

If we want to buy a property in our name, do we need to present there in India at the time of registration? or can we sign the documents from here?

Bird it's better to be present in there but mostly it's not possible. You can write a Power of attorney in the name of your brother/sister...anyone whom you trust and who can act/make decisions on your behalf. That’s one way I know, may be other members can share what else can be done.
Cd's,
This is the reply that i got from my classmate in Chennai who is a free lance Architect. He knows that i am struggling from pay cheque to pay cheque in Canada though he also knows that CDN1 = INR 36.5.
Please use your discretion while reading the mail.

TK,
u cannot buy anything in chennai as u wish
Chennai as gone some where very high.
u must invest 60 to 70 laks for an avg resale flat in Chennai. Branded new flat cost u above a crore casually.
Otherwise u have to go minimum 40 km from Chennai to own a house or a decent flat.
U cannot survive in Chennai at all. Unimaginable and unaffordable prices.
bye
