I got my workpermit extended here, my Canadian Visa stamping has expired, can I get it stamped personally in Buffalo consulate? (I have valid B2 visa to US). If so what is the procedure, will I get the passport same/next day with stamping?.

yes, u can get visa stamped at Buffalo and ur passport on the same day...
u need to provide enough information about ur employment in Canada.
e. g. reference letter from ur employer describing the length u worked with them, 2-3 paystubs, work permit document etc.. etc..... If they ask u something tht u dont have with u at the time when u go for visa stamping, they may ask u to come again with missing documents...

most likely they dont ask much about documents but still better to have everything...if you apply at 8 in the morning, you should get your passport back by 11. If you go little late, around 10 then you will get passport after 4-5 hours. It gets busy after 9

You need not visit consulate for visa. Download TRV application from cic site. Attach a copy of your workpermit, latest paystubs, photoes etc.. along with your passport and sent it to either Buffalo or Detroit Consulate. Usually it will take 10 working days to get your passport back.
