Mai be Bambai ka ladka! Went to school in Chembur, studied in Podar college, Matunga before moving to Malad.
Dear Iceberg,
I showed the pictures to some friends from Mumbai and they told me that the spelling is part of the whole deal- that that is what Mumbai is all about . The incorrect English spelling they say is also a part of the soul of Mumbai so maybe we should leave it at that.
Sorry I didn't know.
What they missed is the Mumbai skyline of Nariman point? (is that spelt correctly)?

Hey,
Mahim here. Went to Canossa School and later for a bit to Elphinstone College. How are the dynamics for the club or meeting working out?

Stayed in Mumbai for a long time.. Studied in SIES College, Agarwal Classes, NMIMS... Worked in Mahim... Moghul Lane.... then Navi Mumbai... I miss Mumbai... very much.. miss vada pav and cutting chai.
Also miss Chowpaty Pani puri and ganne ka ras and of course Gurukripa samosa.
So when is the D-day. This thread has been for a while. Do not hesitate otherwise we shall let another opportunity go past us.
Any takers..???

The dynamics are not working out so far. According to former contributors to this site, rendezvous for Mumbaikars and Dubaiites on previous occasions have led to a big zip. Looks like it's destined to be the same this time around.
I have posted 2 venues, dates and times on this thread before, Indian Motorcycle and Wayne Gretzky's bar. On both occasions, besides myself, only former contributors and non- contributors to Canadiandesi showed up.
Incidentally, the few Mumbaikars (the ones who showed up hate calling themselves ex-Mumbaikars for some reason) and the two Delhi people said that if there was a Sachin Tendulkar bar in either Mumbai or Delhi, it would have more class and better service than the Wayne Gretzky bar here. No one really was impressed by it.
That was trivia- I must someday visit Mumbai and all the clubs and night spots they talk about. Even though I have passed through a coupke of times it was just for a day or two and I didn't really hang out.
I hear of pani puri , vada pav, bhel puri, Chowpatty on this thread but these people I have run into talk about Oberoi, Taj Intercontinental, Holiday Inn, Kempinski(?), Centaur, bowling alleys, fancy restauarants, CCI club(?), Radio club , Athena(?), Otter Club (I been there once several years ago, but don't remember much of it) and tons of other places that they make sound like heaven.
Anybody care to comment on these
